Power+Control = One Pull

What genuinely sets the product apart

  • Power and control are physically joined in a Figure-8 construction, so the two functions can travel together on the same lighting route.
  • The control side is visually identifiable by the grey stripe on the orange jacket.
  • The product family gives a choice of 1.5 mm² or 2.5 mm² power conductors while retaining 2C × 1.5 mm² on the control side.
  • Both variants use tinned copper conductors, V90 PVC construction and are rated 450/750 V.
  • The datasheets list AS/NZS 1125, AS/NZS 3008, AS/NZS 3808, AS/NZS 5000.2 and IEC 60332-1-2.

Smarter lighting deserves smarter cabling.

Lighting systems are becoming more intelligent, but the physical installation still has to happen one cable route at a time. On many projects, installers need to manage a power cable and a separate control cable along the same lighting path. That can mean more drums, more handling, more identification and more coordination above ceilings, through trays and along repetitive lighting runs.

Maser Light Speed™ is designed to make that part of the job simpler.

Instead of treating power and lighting control as two unrelated cable runs, Light Speed™ brings them together in one joined Figure-8 construction — with 2C × 1.5 mm² control cable paired alongside the lighting power cable. The result is a practical product built around the way installers actually work.

One route. One coordinated pull.

The core idea is simple: keep power and control together for the lighting run. That helps reduce the amount of separate cable handling and makes repetitive routes easier to coordinate. It is especially useful where the same lighting path has to be repeated across multiple rooms, rows or zones.

This is not about adding complexity to a lighting system. It is about removing complexity from the installation workflow.

Easy identification built into the cable.

The orange control side is marked with a grey stripe, making it easier for installers to identify which side carries control. It is a small design detail, but on a busy site — particularly where multiple runs are being prepared and terminated — clear visual identification can make the workflow more intuitive.

Two power options. One Light Speed™ idea.

Maser Light Speed™ is available in two configurations:

  • MAS2C3G1.5 :     2C × 1.5 mm² lighting control paired with 2C+E 1.5 mm² power.
  • MAS2C3G2.5 :    2C × 1.5 mm² lighting control paired with 2C+E 2.5 mm² power.

This gives designers and contractors a choice of power conductor size while keeping the same joined power-and-control installation concept. Final cable selection, current-carrying capacity and voltage-drop assessment should always be made for the actual circuit and installation conditions.

Where Light Speed™ can make a difference in New Zealand.

The following are practical application examples rather than claims about specific completed projects:

  • Commercial offices — repeated lighting zones, meeting rooms, open-plan areas and circulation spaces where power and control commonly follow the same route.
  • Schools and tertiary facilities — classrooms, libraries, corridors and learning spaces with multiple lighting zones and control points.
  • Warehouses and industrial buildings — long, repetitive rows of luminaires where simplifying the physical cable run can help keep installation moving.
  • Retail and commercial fit-outs — projects with programmed pressure, busy ceiling spaces and repeated lighting layouts.
  • Healthcare and public buildings — environments where lighting cables may share congested service routes with data, fire, security and HVAC infrastructure.

Built with the electrical environment in mind.

Both Light Speed™ variants use tinned copper conductors and V90 PVC, are rated 450/750 V and have a stated operating temperature range of -20°C to +90°C. The Maser datasheets list AS/NZS 1125, AS/NZS 3008, AS/NZS 3808, AS/NZS 5000.2 and IEC 60332-1-2. The datasheets also state that Maser products meet the Green Star “Best Practice PVC” criteria referenced by the Green Building Council of Australia.

Put your next lighting installation on the fast track.

Maser Light Speed™ is not simply another cable specification. It is a different way to think about the lighting run: keep the two functions together, reduce separate handling, identify the control side quickly and move from drum to done with less fuss.
